Roxham and Neil Jacobsen continue to donate volunteer time and funds to support community-based resilience, capacity building and sustainability initiatives. By way of example, the Jacobsen Family have established a named Endowment Fund that proudly supports the YMCA of Southwestern New Brunswick’s Strong Communities Campaign. The fund will help youth, families and seniors in southern New Brunswick for perpetuity. Neil and Christine Jacobsen also served as Honorary Co-Chairs of the 2023 Strong Communities Fundraising Campaign.

Neil Jacobsen continues to volunteer in support for a range of community initiatives, including the recent development of ActSJ: the City of Saint John’s Community Energy Action Plan, as well as on-going efforts to renew the region’s economic development strategy through Envision Saint John. Roxham Advisory & Consulting Services was also a proud three-year “Smart Energy Supporter” of QUEST Canada and their efforts to help communities chart their pathway to net-zero.

Testimonial

“I have had the pleasure of working with Neil Jacobsen in a variety of capacities over the past 20+ years. Our journey began when I joined the Board of Enterprise Saint John, our local economic development agency, as a member, and later Board Chair. Neil was a member of the senior executive team and played an integral role in the success of the organization. Neil moved on to a role in Government as the Assistant Deputy Minister for the Department of Energy at the same time I accepted a secondment to the same Department in the role of Executive Director. Working together with Neil gave me a much better lens into his work ethic, careful thoughtfulness and analytic perspective, and, perhaps most importantly, his ability to engage in information based decision making and forward focussed planning. Neil has continued to leave his mark during his time with the City of Saint John and the Atlantica Centre for Energy.

My most recent work with Neil has been with his involvement in the UNB Saint John MBA program as a contract academic employee teaching in the MBA program. His ability to draw on his past experience and apply it to new problems serves him well in this endeavour as well. His unique and systematic approach to problem solving and his ability to engage students in the learning experience has made him a popular instructor and a course that students see as providing them with valuable learnings.

I was thrilled to hear from Neil that he was hanging a consulting shingle. His ability to add value to organizations is unquestionable. His focussed, investigative approach and broad, strategic perspective is the value add to planning that companies need.”
